We have rolled out multi-factor authentication to the Gentlent dashboard — available to all users starting today.
Mutli-factor authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security used to ensure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are. Instead of entering only your password, you're required to provide a secondary piece of information, typically a time-based code (TOTP) from an app like Google Authenticator.
As part of our ongoing commitment to user security, we’ve re-released support for MFA in our dashboard. This feature had been around in our previous dashboard’s version and was migrated to our new dashboard this week.
Starting today, all users can use MFA via TOTP-enabled authenticator apps like Google Authenticator to better protect their accounts. To enable this feature, go to the security settings in your dashboard and follow the prompts to link your authenticator app.
We’re already working on adding more MFA options, including email-based verification and support for hardware security keys (like YubiKeys).
As always, we’ll keep you in the loop as these features roll out. In the meantime, we strongly encourage all users to enable MFA today to protect themselves from the shadows of the internet.
